Mr. Aaron T. Van Devanter Mr. Aaron T. Van Devanter, our Principal of Three years, has constantly striven to maintain harmonious student-faculty relations. His sincere interest in the young people of Ballard High School has earned him the reputation of being an understanding man and one who inspires complete confidence. He can be found in his office at almost any hour of the day willingly assisting Ballard students. The countless tasks and decisions he makes show his assiduity and intelligence. The students of Ballard High School cannot ask for a more competent principal to guide them in building for their future. Another work-filled year is drawing to an end for Mr. Peter Schneller, Vice-Principal of Ballard High School. As the heavy doors swing closed, he can look forward to his third successful year as Vice-Principal. Mr. Schneller has had much experience working with people as he held the position of guidance counsellor previous to his present position. Many tasks compose his iob, and we are all proud of the efficient way he handles them. The fine work he is doing now will be reflected in the future years of Ballard. New horizons are beckoning us to greater and broader realizations. We are on the threshold of a new life which has been molded by the knowledge we have gained here at Ballard and which opens to us magnifi- cent vistas. At the same time this new day is dawning, the sun is setting on one year of our lives, but in looking back, we will remember it as more than iust another year. As with other years, the students will recall ioy and study, but the outstanding feature which we will hold dear is that of the noisy expansion of our Alma Mater. While the walks were cluttered with construction materials and mud, the saws were con- stantly grinding. Out of what seemed to be rubble ap- peared a beautiful lunchroom, a massive gym, a know- ledge-filled library, an intricate new science wing, and a theater-like auditorium. Despite the turmoil, this year formed a new student body-a student body with a deeper understanding of patience and cooperation and held together mainly by our two devoted leaders, Nlr. Aaron T. Van Devanter, Principal, and Mr. Peter Schneller, Vice-Principal. Mr. Peter Schneller
