Dedication and honor We bestow, Mr. Van Devanter, Principal To the Students of Ballard: To have been your Principal this past year has been a wonderful experience. It has been said that when a man has learned the habit of success you can be sure that all the forces of will and personality that he possesses are on his side. This principle seems to apply to groups as well as to individuals as has been dem- onstrated this year by the faculty and stu-dent body of Ballard. One would be in- sensitive indeed, not to have been moved by the vitality and the creative effort that was stimulated and released as you moved from one success to another. A special note of congratulations is in order for the Class of l957. As seniors you have made outstanding contributions of energy, leadership and talent. You have helped in building into your school the habit of success and a tradition of excellence. And to the extent that each of you has helped in development of these characteristics in your school, your school has, in turn, built them into your char- acter.
