Tuesday afternoon in A-4 - Legislature holds their regular meeting. 28 A.S.B., the Associated Students of Ballard, is the gov- erning organization of our school. Every activity card holder is a member of A.S.B. and receives all benefits that it extends. The A.S.B. system of government is based upon our national system. The Legislature, which is comparable to the senate, is made up of one representative from each roll room. These represent- atives are the connecting link between the student body and the student government leaders. Informa- tion, results of discussions, questions and suggestions, are all passed to and from the Legislature meetings by the representatives. It is also their iob to represent their own rolls during a Legislature vote, similar to the duties of a senator. As can be seen, the roll rep- resentativevs are the keynote to A.S.B. They must keep the entire student body operating in unison.

Advisor The Boys' Club committees have been very busy this year. With the aid of Mr. McComb, they got off to a fast start by forming a Good Citizenship Committee. This committee had success in improving our behaviour at games and around school. The Assembly Planning Committee did a wonderful iob of staging Boys' Club assemblies. The Dance Committee helped to get oft many good dances at the Field House. The executive branch of the A.S.B. contains officers and cabinet. They are the leaders of the government. The cabinet is responsible for seeing that all committees in A.S.B. are running properly and effectively. This means that they are well informed for their positions. In using this system, the committee work and activities are most effectively con- trolled bythe cabinet, the group that is the middle C of the A.S.B. The elected officers of A.S.B. are the true leaders of the school. As the officers, they are responsible not only to their positions, but must help keep the school working in one unified group. A strong student government has always been the mark of an outstand- ing school. In its comparatively short existence, A.S.B. has proved itself to be the best form of student government Ballard has ever had. In the coming years, more of our government's potentialities will be realized. With the efforts put forth by this year's leaders, the A.S.B. has marched another step toward this ultimate in student government. All things run harmoniously. A.S.B.
