OUR PRI CIPAL SPEAKS Sewards Folly turned out to be Sewards Foresight Alaska IS more valuable than even Seward foresaw Yet many men called Alaska Seward s Folly Progress when It has come has always been the result of the foresight of some person Somebody saw more clearly than the common run of us Some gr ater constructive imaglnation believed in his ideas and did something about them Seward s faith IS justified Alaska IS established and in the years to come thousands of youth Wlll find there the land of their promise But there are other Alaskas not made of mountains and rivers of gold and copper but of the stuff of dreams and ambitions that Youth cherish 1n their hearts realms of ideas and human betterment ready to be explored and developed by WISC and darmg souls There 1S where you may find your place No doubt some one will brand your 1dea as folly but you must bCl16VC If you have respect for available knowledge 1f you have the courage to light down 1gnorance dullness skepticism 1f you replace fear w1th confidence complacency w1th aspiration and 1nert1a with force and action you too w1ll preva1l and what was scorned and scoffed at may find 1tS place 1n a Hall of Fame with other Seward s Follies 4.
