President Emens has a broad back- ground for his position, having his A.B. and M. Ed. degrees from Eastern Michigan Col- lege, his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan and honorary Ll.D. degree from Wayne State University and Hanover College. 22 PRESIDENT JOHN R. EMENS John R. Emens, a man with a purpose, is seventh in line of presidents of Ball State Teach- ers College. He continues a tradition of personal sincerity and interest, in an era noted for automa- tion and mass organization.
