ASSOCIATION FOR CHILDHOOD EDUCATION A. C. E. has a large membership on this campus. The local chapter par- ticipates in many activities which are designed to better acquaint elementary education students with the teaching profession. In addition to monthly meetings, the local group also has two book sales, one in the fall and one in the spring, cooperates with the education department in sponsoring Elementary Education Day, and sends delegates to a state workshop. The activities of the local chapter are not limited to our own campus, how- ever. A. C. E. is an international organization which has its headquarters in Wash- ington, D. C. Operating on an international scale, A. C. E. is not closed to only those who are teachers or who are preparing to become teachers - it is open to any person who is interested in the education of children. The group contributed to the furthering of an international improvement of the teaching profession by having a proiect devoted to U.N.E.S.C.O. and also by sending delegates to the international study conference. The local chapter sent seven delegates to the conference which was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. ,qi J .- Aj r V My, - W K Q B . I , Qs!!
