IN MEMORIUM 29 l l r r The faculty and student body were saddened by the death of Miss Mildred Johnson in Janu- ary of this year. Miss Johnson taught her reg- ular classes during the fall quar- ter. She was hospitalized at the end of the term and never re- turned to the home economics rooms she loved. After more than twenty-five years at Ball State, she is missed by her friends, fellow teachers, and students alike: they could always depend on her for whole- some good will and good advice when they needed it. Miss Johnson was completely devoted to her field and thor- oughly enjoyed her associations with home economics people. She took an active part in pro- fessional organizations and was interested in the problems of her students. Her home was always open to her friends. The many infor- mal gatherings were sparked by her spontaneous enthusiasm for life. Never s e e k i n g recognition, Miss Johnson was frequently called upon to get the job done behind the scenes. Several times chairman of the annual Alpha and Omega banquet, she parti- cipated in numerous community activities. Sharply sensitive to the needs of those around her, Miss Johnson did countless gen- erous acts for friends in her midst. Truly a woman who lived by her ideals, Miss Johnson will be long remembered by those of us whom she touched by the warmth of her personality.
