IN RECOGNITION OF . Sharley B. DeMotte Ball State acquired the services of Mr. Swin- ford in l926. Of course Mr. Swinford was already known on campus from his undergraduate days. Mr. Swinford also has little time for relaxation since he carries a fulltime teaching load, spon- sors clubs, and is the faculty business advisor to the Orient and Ball State News. To both Mrs. DeMotte and Mr. Swinford may we say, Thanks! Mrs. DeMotte came to Ball State in 1925. The students think of her as one of their true faculty friends, and that she is. In the 28 years of her service to Ball State, she has seen many changes take place, indeed she has participated in making the changes possible. Certainly the beneficial influence of Mrs. De- Motte is very noticeable on campus as a faculty member, publicity director, sponsor of the Ball State News, and last, but not least, the Orient. Basil M. Swinford
