You and I in the adventure of education have moved in the direction of a college of a quality rather than of quantity. This has not been easy. But the problems We have tried to solve together have given us faith in our ability to maintain some control over the future. In many respects we have merely started what we hoped to complete. We have caught a vision, however, of what a college can and must be, a select body of like-minded persons inspired by faith in the power of intelligence and its two instru- ments, knowledge and reason.
