In his capable hands is placed the responsi- bility of arranging the schedule for the college. His services have become in- valuable to this institution. XY. I. XXQXMLJNIIK Nliss Trullender. as associate-registrar of the college, carries out registration plans and arranges schedules. She has proved herself capable and eflicient in this position. NIiss Norris, financial clerls. fills a very responsible position in the ofhce. In her capacity as financial clerk, she has become a genuine asset to the college. Mr. Qlevenger, secretary of credits and placements, has become acquainted with many' students through the nature of his work. STL'lJl'l5AKl R X1..X Ulu., State lfnisers Q Rl E A, ,Q ART DEPARTMENT T111 work in the Art Department is organized to meet the needs of those who wish to teach or supervise art education in the public schools of Indiana. ln its appreciation courses the De- partment attempts to develop in the student an art judgment which will aid him to solve the art problems which present themselves in everyday living. One of the outstanding past events of the year 1931-32 was the Art Appreciation Short Course held in Assembly Hall on November 5 and 6. The Art Department sponsored this event in co-operation with the Indiana University Extension Division and the Indiana Federation of Art Clubs. COMMERCE DEPARTMENT Till' IJ:-,PAitT1s1IiNT oi- Comml-.ltcii aims to offer courses necessary Qlj for the proper prepara- tion of teachers of commercial subjects in our secondary schools, and f2j to give training in the fundamental principles of business customs which may be of practical value to any individual. Motivation in the Teaching of Business Sub- jects was the central theme of the Twelfth An- nual Conference of Indiana Commercial Teach- ers on February ZU, 1932, which was sponsored by the Department. A mass contest in which every pupil in the class took the ICSI was a new feature of the Eleventh Annual State Commercial Contest held under the auspices of the Depart- ment. XVinners in the mass event competed at the finals at Ball State. The Commerce Club and Pi Omega Pi, national honorary commercial teach- ers fraternity, are the student organizations which co-operate with the faculty in these special pro- jects.
