Lessons have been learned, recited and remembered or forgotten as the case may be. fx Friendships have developed into mutual understandings that will make or mar our lives. Personalities have unfolded and characters shaped for Mi a life time. ty ln many ways this last year has been quite different. All of society is suffering from a depression of intelligence. Not one of us has ever known so great a confusion. Our leaders cannot lead because of their divergent views and those who should follow do not know whom to trust. We could grow pessimistic and cynical, as some do, but this attitude 5 solves no problems and will never lead us out of this Slough of despond. This is a time of readjustment. In prosperity we went too far. Now we must retrace our steps back to a saner and more stable life. That the members of this class may contribute no small share to this l . . .
