McClelland is ele- vated to the post of assistant instructor as Burns takes over the Ball High Battle Group as Spring Commander. IMS awww Commissioning Mr. George L. Morton, principal fleftl, presents Officer Candidate James Finger with his newly won commission as an R.0.T.C. officer. Military Ball Dr. Morgan Evans. Superintendent of Schools, is welcomed to the Annual Military Ball and Banquet by fall semester connnander Colonel Charles lVlCClelland at the head of the reception line. The lavish social event was held in the Grecian Room of the Galvez Hotel shortly after mid-term. Dr. Evans was one of many distinguished and honored guests who attended the Ball and Banquet. Below, left. Cadet Cary Burns enters the Galvez to the music of Clicking heels. The helmeted Cadet at left was one of several to act as honor guard for officers of the Corps and special guests. With Burns is his date, Miss Beth Rowland. Reception. Line The Grand Entrance Dancing Away Above, right, Cadet Howard Northcutt and Miss Daphne Curtis, and Cadet Keith Montgomery and Miss Beth Rowland, the Beaux and Sweethearts of this year and last year respectively, begin the Ball after the Coronation of Northcutt and Miss Curtis as this year's reigning personalities.
