Cutting the heart of the campus was clear, and everyone lost someone, very dear. The excuse for this action is just as phoney, as 4,000 dollars isxft a lot of money. Being here not, for a very long time, realizing that we are just all contined. As he blames the economy is as contagion; as a cough. We are sick of his BuIlShjtting, and are aIl-quite pissed off. As one honest student claimed he was conned, Out eame more garhage from the man A.Rjonds. Wondering what the story is withaJl of our land, While beneath the trustee's table, iseveryonehs hand. Although always claiming to continue and build, Through these actions of theirs B-W will he killed. After all in any case, it really doesn't matter, As the people upstate just keep getting fatter. This school in the past has always been admired, But you must realize we love who you fired. Keeping in mind we pay 80 percent, The way they spend it has my mind bent. The power is still in the students to cure Because we all can, and probably will, TRANSFERIE Bruce Beighlie exponenL March 13., l974 Willpotential 'Idiotst be welcome? Dear People: It is with a tragic feeling of dEjE vu that I find myself writing this letter. I have never condemned Baldwin-Wallace because I have never been to any other college and have nothing with which to compare it. I consider myself a serious student v not necessarily a good one, but one whose sole purpose for being here is to study and learn. I didn't come here to play the pinball machines. I am not anti-jock, anti-Greek. or anti-Wightman; I simply have no interest in their existence. Dorm autonomy has never been a flaming issue for me: if necessary, I can carry independence around in my head. Neither is the need for wallpaper dear to my heart. And although he been told I have demented taste buds, I generally like Lang food. In other words, I dontt ask for much and am easy to please. In the event of a financial pinch, I would gla dly accept cuts in - even removal of - all extracurricular luxuries. What I am trying to say is that such privileges are not my real priorities, and no matter how much I enjoy some of them. I would willingly sacrifice them for the sake of the one greatest privilege We all have. There have been four or five professors at this school who have made nw life here much more than worthwhile. not because they had been trainedta tor retrained,'J in certain fields, but because they have had enough passion for their subjects and enough interest in me to make their classes some of the most provocative. challenging experiences lwill have ever had. I always hated high school, and it took these wonderful people to make me finally loge the-pursuit of knowledge. At least partially in gratitude to them, I attended the ueztcplanatcn'y meeting Wedt neday night, where I was in formed that it is entirely my fault that their futures are in jeopardy. As a bonus, I also learned that for having spent most of my credit hours trying to complete two majors. lam doomed to become a tftr'ained idiot? A parehtly I should feel guilty for harboring any treasonous plans to tranfet: well, had Iany mtentions of doing so, it's too late now. As for accusations of upracticality tand m a nation stricken with financial exigency, what does Dr. Bonds really expectN: if I am so ruthlessly job-oriented, why am I an English and history major? I had hoped for respective emphasis in writing and Arnerican history, but it seems that now both specialties have been wiped out. Left with little incentive to stay here myself. why,Ir the hell should I encourage my sister and brother: to enroll help? tNot that I can imagine theytd he wanted, since Jacqui has thought of becoming an idiot Home Ec. major, and Richard is a potential idiot Con. studentJ Always willing to offer the benefit of the doubt, I grant that there must be some 300d, understanding people working in the Administration. If they were at the meeting, I didlg't hear them. Who are Dr. Bonds and the deans to insuit, rebuff, and candescend to us. Without me and every other student at B-W, they are homing. The Administration has absolutely no right to expect us to attract prospective freshmen to a college which continues to degrade its faculty and student body. In closing, I wish Baldwin-Wallace luck in its further effona to transform itself into a junior high school. My only hope is that it will be an accredited ane. Bitterly. Bobbi G Baker exponent.
