Matching the progress ol the world . . . that is the monumental task which the college fates. I he results ol its efforts are before you. No sooner is one building completed, another is begun. New resi- dente halls. a stadium, library, science building . . . these are the tools at our disposal. As students we shall derive, through their use. educational rewards. During the summer. namrc quietly claimed the campus . . . trees, slmibs, leaves and I lowers seem lovely. Most everyone is on vacation, leaving college halls to maintenance crews lot painting and cleaning . . . preparing lor an enrollment ol (»00 new students. Occasionally an airplane streaks the- sky . . . without disturbing the serenity ol the elm studded campus. Suddenly the campus came to life. From all directions students converged on the campus, cats and more cars crowded the streets. I’nbalanccd men. mostly fathers, carrying heavy suitcases . . . strange laces look on a friendly smile . . . roommates you knew by name arc- now re al persons.
