A Year of Construction A Year of Wondel' Ground breaking ceremonies on Founder's Day, Ocfober I9, officially began fhe year of consfrucfion of fhe SI30,000 home economics building -on fhe Norfh Campus, iusf soufh of fhe Burrell Memorial Ob- servafory. The R. S. Ursprin-g Co. of Berea was named general confracfor. Ward Hall will be finished by Fall. Wifh fhe oufbreak of war in Korea, fhe campus was fhrown info a year of wonder. A Year of Sorrow A Year of Arrivals Tears were in many eyes and grief in many hearfs as fhe college learned of fhe passing of beloved D. Alberf Riemenschneider, feacher, musician, adminisfrafor and friend. Prof. Al had been acfing presidenf of fhe college before fhe arrival of Dr. Knighf. To fhose who knew him and worked wifh him and fo fhe sfudenfs who ad- mired him, his memory is a cherished one. Mrs. Riemenschneider has donafed fhe Docfor's fabu- lous Bach Library fo fhe Conservafory. This year, fhe special Bach Fesfival which he had planned during fhe summer, was carried ouf in his honor, Mrs. Riemenschneider fook over as coordinafor of fhe fesfival. Upon fhe resignafion of Eddie Finnigain, Elroy Hersh, sfar of fhe L-os Angeles Rams, was appoinf- ed fo fake over foofball spring fraining. On April 26fh, announcemenf was made of fhe appoinf- menf of Louis B. Juilleraf of Akron as head foof- ball and frack coach, and Paul lSparkyl Adams of New Concord. During fhe lasf fhree years af Ak- ron Juilleral' has produced fwo Cify Champion foofball reams.
