Two of those students are Laura Tamez and Le'Yvonne Patlan . On April 18, 1987, Laura Tamez was crowned Miss Baldwin Park '87 in our own high school gym. When asked how it feels to be Miss Baldwin Park, Laura replied, It's an ex- perience of a ifetime because it helps you grow and learn about ourself and the people aroundy you. Her hobby is karate, which she has taken part in for four consecutive gears. She has also has a black elt. After hi h school, Laura plans to attend a Cal Poly Col- e e or a major university, where she will study to become an attorney, specializing in Luvenile cases. One of Laura's iggest dreams is to perform her karate in television or a movie. When asked to whom she owed her success, Laura answered, I could never have accomplished what I have without the support and love of my mom and my dad, my brother Carl, and my closest friends that have helped me along the way. Have you noticed a girl on campus who is always taking pictures. That girl just might be Le'Yvonne Pat an . She is one of the finest photo raphers that the school has had in the past twelve years. Mr. Eberstein, the photography teacher, was quoted in saying, Le'Yvonne has a good photographic eye, and a flair for the action shots. She's one of the few that get in- to the game to foretell action. After high school, Le'Yvonne plans to go to college and possibly a trade school for photography. She hopes to one da open her own studio. When asked why she likes photography so much, Le'Yvonne re lied, cause it's the only hobby I can make money off of.
