Many peolple took part in t e festivities. Our Baldwin Park High School Blue Ribbon Band units and Flag carriers entertained the guest with such songs as Ventura and Happy Birthday , which made the public proud to be a part of the Centennial. One of our bend members, Kim Young stated, 'AI was proud to be there. It gave the band exposure and recogni- tion. Also attending the celebration was our Miss Baldwin Park, 1987 - 1988, Laura Tamez. Laura is a member here at Baldwin Park. She was asked to attend this celebration by the Centennial Committee, She had the honor of blowing out the candles and presenting the first piece of Centennialcake to our Mayor, Leo Kingy Although this ,ti-' lSff ,'ip just one of the mauitsmpar. tant occasions I atftook place here in Baldwin Park.
