The poor record of one victory and eight defeats can be attributed to inexperience at most positions and loss of such players as JOHN CONROY and JOHN MOREHEAD because of injuries. BUDDY CHASE established himself among the all time greats of BPHS football with his sterling defensive play, break-away running, and team leadership. The Braves will miss graduating seniors CONROY, CHASE, KEL- LER, UKANIS, GRAY, MCFARLAND, MILLER, GILMAN, DEAVILA, FINE, WELTON, TALLEY, and VALENCIA, but returning Iettermen should provide the nucleus for an outstanding team for next year. Citrus was next on the agenda cmd after a see-saw battle we ended up on the good side of a 6-O score. West Covina visiting our field gave us quite a scare when at half time they led I9-6. Following the halftime pep talk the Braves came on to scalp the opposition 25-19. After winning three in a row, Montebello took the starch out of us by converting fum- bles into touchdowns. Traveling to Bellflower, the C s culminated their wins by downing the only single wing team in the league 27-O. There never was a group that played, fought, and gave their utmost to their school and fellow students than this year's team. B. P. H. S. OPPONENTS 31 ...... . . .AZUSA O 6 . ........
