Senlor Closs HISTOYY On that memorable day of September 6, 1952, just four years ago forty shy half frightened students entered room I4 to begin their Freshman year Seven of these students had spent their entire school life in Baldwin High. Mn. Bennie Fielding, our present sponsor, was then our home room teacher As we progressed, she went with us During our Freshman year Charles Daniels and Willie Padgett played on the football team. Ioan Willrams Bertha Batten, and Wanda Solomon were cheerleaders The Sophomore year was uneventful except that we put on our first school play Everybody s Gettmg Married. Sara Strutz represented the F F A as Miss Dogwood It was during thrs year that we lost four of our class members Our dream finally was coming true The following year 1955 was our busy year as all Junior classes find rt to be We began rarsing funds for the Junior Senior Prom We entertained the Senrors wtth a dmner at Morrison s Cafeterra after whrch the group went to the Florida Theater At a later date the Prom was held rn the Audltonum of the Y W C A The year of all years 1956 had arrived We were now proud Seniors! Some students had transferred and the love bug had bitten some others so our number decreased ro twenty five As Semors we were proud of the record of the followtng football players Charles Daniels Henry Caruso, 1Captai.n and Altemate Captaml Dtclue McEwen, and Ray Burnsed with Gary Coleman as head manager and tramer Boy s basketball was represented by Charles Daniels Bobby I-hggrnbotham l-lenry Caruso, Ray Bumsed, and Hugh Rowe Sara Strutz, Carol Jones, and Betty Brack were cheerleaders The Prestdent of the Student Body was a Senior Bobby Hrggmbotham won thrs honor rn a school election Hugh Rowe was elected Vice Prestdent At thrs time of our school year we would like to pay tribute to our parents and to our teachers who have so farthfully battled wrth our problems and who have been so understanding It ts be cause of you that we are now assummg the name of Sensors Thanks agarnl I I3 as I I I O I p I rs I I . ,, .
