,, .ew Thespians Observe And Produce Plays This year the Drama Club presented the play Run Robber Run, for the school carnival on january 30. The main characters in the play were portrayed by Marty Hobson, Pam Crady, and Mike Swan. The president Pam Schmidt, was the tech- nical director for the all-school musical Li'l Abner. The club members provided the lighting and make-up crews for the musical. Drama Club also attended the Kansas University production of lndians. The officers were Pam Schmidt, presi- dent, Melissa Toler, vice-president, Pam Crady, secretary-treasurer, and Steve Lynch, student council representative. F.B.L. . Plans Ahead The Future Business Leaders of America, under the leadership of Carmen Collins, president, kept busy with its aim of strengthening it members' ability and leadership in the field of business. Members worked on service projects and their Twelve Purposes. The F.B. L.A. 'ers went to various conferences and made several trips in order to improve themselves. Seven members and their sponsor atten- ded the National Leadership Conference held in Philadelphia last june. Officers attended the Fall Workshop in Emporia during Sept. 1970. The Regional Conference, Feb. 4, and the State Conference, April 15 and 16, were both attended by Baldwin F.B. L.A. 'ers. Dur- ing the year, four members of the B.I-I. S. chapter were candidates for regional and state offices. In order to enrich their evening meetings, various speakers from local businesses were invited to present programs. They spoke on their business experiences and the specializations of their particular careers. To heighten school spirit and encourage members to pro- mote school loyalty, F.B. L.A. sold school booster buttons and planted flowers in the divider by the parking lot. At the end of the year, an award was given for the Outstanding F.B. L.A. 'er and Who's Who in Kansas F.B.L.A. ,..- The Future Business Leaders of America provides its members with more know- ledge of the business world, for their future years. QFIRST ROWJ: Connie Lindholm, secretary-treasurer, Roger Carlson, vice-president, Rhonda Gibler, pre sident, Walter Hill, student council rep. 5 QSECOND ROWQ: Anne Law- son, Martha Doty, Marty Hobson, Karen Shay, Becky Hemphill, Judy Puckett, Nancy Hey, QTI-HRD ROWQ: Mrs. Betty Deel, advisor, Susan Richards, Pam Schmidt, Miles Stotts, jeff Chubb, Rex Pippenger, and jeff Hinson. Honor Society Features Spring Trip The National Honor Society is made up of 17 members. There are 10 seniors and 7 juniors. The officers of this year were Rhonda Gibler, president, Roger Carlson, vice-president, Connie Lind- holm, secretary-treasurer, and Walter Hill, student council representative. The main project of honor society this year was an educational field trip. In previous years, members have gone to Kansas City and visited such places as the Southwestern Bell Company, WIBW Radio and T.V. Station, museums libraries, and other points of interest. Other projects included for this past year's club were the planting of trees around the school grounds, and sponsor- ing a guest speaker at a school assem- bly. The purpose of this organization is to teach students to build on four main qualities: character, leadership, scholar ship, and service to the school and to the community. J
