Are you SURE that's the Student Coun- cil president? mt-Q--v Student Council . During the course of the year, the Student Council introduced the idea of an open forum where high school students were allowed to rap about any of the projects that the school had adopted or simply to get reactions of the students about high school life in general. The council also worked on plans for a student lounge, and it became a reality after many hours of work and funds contributed by classes. Students enjoyed the juke box daily and this made lunch hour more enjoyable. The members were actively involved as well, in the beautification of the school grounds. Another project was the build- ing and upkeep of the outside announcement board. One important event of the year was the hosting of a successful Student Council workshop which involved much work and careful planning 5 to orga- nize the discussion groups was an event all its own. The workshop was intended to be a kind of swap shop to exchange ideas to other councils in various schools around eastern Kansas. The purpose of Baldwin High School's Student Council is to be a bridge between the students and the faculty-administration set-up, and this year's coun- cil accomplished this objective extremely well.
