We of the editorial staff wish to show our appreciation to Mr Raitor by dedicating this 1955 Blackhawk to him He is liked by all because f his friendly attitude and his inspiring outlook on life has built up all groups of music in Baldwin with untiring spirit and zealous interest in his work Since he has been here all the music groups has taken part in many outside activities and have the marching band with its formations and in the concert band with its precise playing The vocll groups also have been advancing both in lnterest, and in quality thr ugh his efforts This being one of the ways of showing our appreciation to Mr Raitor we dedicating this 1955 Blackhawk to him The Annual Staff of 1955 o . ew Ah hifiun There will be six new classrooms which will be occupied by the sixth , seventh, and eighth grades. New shower and locker rooms will be in the addition and above the shower rooms there will be a new music room, 30 feet by SO feet. The present gymnasium will be increased in length by thirty-six feet. A new of- fice will be located on the first floor, and there will be a teachers' lounge on the second floor. Boys' and girls' lav- atories will be on both floors. Construction is expected to begin by the end of this school year. The new addition will not be completed by the time school opens again next fall, but they hope to have the gym finished by next December. we realize that this new addition has been made possible through the un- tiring efforts of the School Board and Mr. Berg. we will all be anxiously a- waiting the time when we can occupy the beautiful addition. A new addition to the present Bald- win High School has been approved. The Bond Issue is for Sl93,000, OOO, which will take care of general construction such as the building, itself, heat, light, ventilation, and plumbing and equipment.
