M Wally Voskuil and Mr Wesley Nelson are the two new members Mrs Floyd Greene replaced Mrs Cora Heebink as the Director of the Board Howard Murphy is presently serving as the Treasur er Board members are elected to serve on the Board for terms of three years This ls r Murphy's second year John Henry Doornink is the clerk ihis is Mr Doornink's third year We would like to take this opportunity to thank all these members for all the time and effort they put forth we feel that we will receive many advantages from the future addition to the school which they have so carefully olanned Y N 34 I . 1 181s B In quest of a principal four years ago, the long arm of the school board reached forth and requested the ser- vices of one L. F. Berg, the principal of the high school at lndependence, Win since Mr. Berg's arrival on the muddled scene at Baldwin High, things have smoot ened out very nicely. Under his guidance, Baldwin became an accredited school as a member of the North Central Association. We have oullt a new swim- ming pool and have added greatly to the schools facilities by buying some much needed new equipment. Mr. Berg also worked many long hours last summer on a move to close the Sunnyside school and bring its students to Baldwin. This was no easy task as there were man e y peo ple who wanted their children ta go to W d 00 ville- But through his untiring ef- rorts,cne results were in our favor and the people chose to send their children to the Baldwin Grade School. As a top- per to his many accomplishments, the village recently voted to ouild a 3193, OOO addition to the present high school ouilding. M1ch of his ti.e and efforts have gone into this project, which when finished,w1ll house six classrooms which the 7th and Sth grades will occupy a new sound proof oandroom with three practice rooms, new locker room and sh- ower facilities and a 36 foot addition to the gym, There will also be a new office and a new entrance to the school In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Berg also will direct the Senior Class play this year. In the speech department, he has charge of the oratorlcal field. In the past he has also taught classes of Civics and Gen- eral Science.
