KOCHER ENGLISH Econorucs - LIBRARIAN PHYSICAL DRIVERS EDUCATION MR SOCIAL MR WALDAL Mr Waldal, our principal, came to our school in the fall of 1945 from Wausaukee, W1SCOHSin His wlse and sound adminis has made our school a better and more likeable instltute for learning He has made us see that hard work and hard studying bring rewards Mr Waldal attended the Chetek High School, Chetek, w1SCOD sin He graduated from the Eau Claire State Teachers' College Mr Waldal teaches general sclence and chemistry He also acts as Senlor Class Adviser MR KOCHER Mr Kocher came to our school in 1951 from West Bend, W1SCODS1n, where he graduated from the West Bend High School in 19L3 After graduating, he enlisted in the U S A1r Force where he served for two years In 19u6 he registered at the River Falls State Teachers College, where in a period of four years, he earned a major in Soclal Science and three m1nors CGerman, Engllsh, and speechJ Mr Kocher now teaches English 9 12, Speech, Soc1al Prob lems and Economlcs MR SMITH Wisconsln where he graduated from the New Alburn High School in l9L6 He enllsted in the U S Navy A1r Force and served for two years After returning, he enrolled in the R1ver Falls State Teachers' College Graduatlng from River Falls in January 1952, he came to Woodville 1n February as an Agrlculture and shop instructor He also acts as Junior Class Adviser MRS RYDER Mrs Ryder, a new menber of our adminlstratlon, came to our school from Mllwaukee, w1SCOnSin where she attended the Milwaukee High School She graduated from Stout Instltute at Menomonie, WISCODSID in 1952 where she earned a magor in Home Economlcs and a monor in Science and English Mrs Ryder teaches all Home Econom1cs and b1010gy . We have had quite a time convincing our teachers that we are a dignified group. Last . .' ' 5' . . . . We n privilege of initiating of the freshman came to us. rlt was U fall our two nDoris's' left us, namely, Doris Strehlo and Doris Brathal. We have only sixteen of our original twenty four members this year. Our president this year is Charlotte Johnson and our class advisor is Mr. Waldal. Our class play 'The Happier We'll Be' under Mr. Kocher's direction was very successful and was presented November 10. We had our class pictures taken in October In March we chose as Silver. The class flower motto, we had UConfidence by Lutteral of Eau Claire. our class colors Navy Blue and chosen was yellow robe. L I believe that grades are very personal, and should not be revealed to anyone under any circumstances Too bad' I failed too 1444 Lloyd R David A But I don't think I deserve quite a zero on this paper Mr Kocher Neither do I, but it's the lowest mark I can give . f . 57 JANIS NORVOLD JOANNE ALBRIGHTSON C6t:56pl08g Time 1956 Place New York C1ty, New York As my assistant, Dorothy Shefland and I got into a little trouble with one of our Rhumba students at the McMale School for Boys, we decided we had better f1nd a lawyer to settle the matter legaly As we were looking through the telephone directory for a lawyer, we found that Bob O'Ne1l was a famour lawyer in New York We went to see h1m immediately He was very surprlsed to see us and we started remlnlsing and wonder1ng what our classmates were dolng He asked his secretary Donna Yakesh to look 1n the f1les and see 1f there was anything about our class mates in them Bob sa1d he heard that John Helegson was a Commander of Marching Cadets at West Point Donna found in the files that Robert Solum was teaching at the Roberts University at Piles Peak, and that Marvin Monlcken is directing the Minneapolis Clifford Solum, who is now owner of the Hound Dog Bus Lines dropped in the office When he found that we were talking about our classmates, he said that recently he had been visiting in wiSCODS1D and had had a d1nner date with Donna Anderson who was doing a grand Job of singing at the Hersey Hotel Cliff also said that the former Joanne Krear was now Mrs Richard Bakke and he said he seen at least a half a dozen little Bakke's runn ing around thelr thousand acre farm We were quite surprised to find that Elaine aolum was a Psychiatrist at a Brooklyn Mental Hospital When I stop to think about it, she always did want to know what makes people tick While we were still sitting in Bobs Office a big red fire Engine went roar1ng by and lt was blowing its siren like mad Guess who was drlving, none other than Donny Johnson I see he had his assistant Charlette Johnson on the seat beslde him Bob said, he read in the paper that bhirley Engleman was President of the New Rubber Pants Factory on Eager Beaver Street, in Philadelphia Upon further 1nvest1gat1on of the files Donna found that Donnie Anderson was running the Woodville Central Airlines and Joanne Albrightson was one of the stewardesses for the Airlines vas: IF AT FIRST you don't succeed try, try agaln Then stop, After all, there's no use belng silly about it lp? After we had talked awhile about old times, UJLC The music department has been very active durlng the past few years We now have a Senior, Second, and Junior Band Music has been extended in the circulum of the grade school where, 1n addition to the dlfferent bands, singlng classes are also held There have been many excitlng musical events while we have been in high school Each year the Band has been entered in the Eau Claire Music Jestival Many members of our class have partici ated in this event both with solos and playing in the band n 1952 Mr Raba entered our band in Class B for the first time and everyone was very happy when we received a first rating Dur1ng the summer of 1952 we took part 1n the Minneapolls Aquatennial Parade and received a Grand Parade Award This year we have held our regular concerts and attended the Eau Claire Festival In March we played over WSHB from Stillwater, Minnesota The most exciting event of this year was the decislon of the Band Mothers and Lions Club to sponsor an Auction for the purpose of raising money to buy new uniforms vvavvmvsavvx Advertisement Dog For Sale Eat Anything Fond of Children was Dad, but Jom knew some new steps Dad Well, even so, you didn't have to sit on them untll l a was Wally O Cln Chemistry Classb What's that strange ordor?
