hI Cs ,- 6 ' y J v ■' CEi- beginning. Blaise Pascal BALDWIN HIGH SCHOOL PITTSBURGH 36, PENNSYLVANIA ■' 1 ivt o reword To grow . . . To build . . . To develop are th which each of us, as stvidents have been aiming. The end of our striving here at Baldwin is but a plateau; it is not the summit. As we have built with intangibles for the future, so too Bald- win has rebuilt itself physically. Within the framework of this physical building we have encompassed the best of all intangi- memones. 6 ) ii ' ■1 1 ' ■■nJT Standing: Edward R. Lawrence, Solicitor; Stanley A. Jarecki, Secretary; Edwin W. Elliot, William B. CuUen. Seated: Andrew W. Kovacs, Edward X. Hallenberg, Richard D. Snouffer, Kath- erine K. Stone, Clifford M. Sweitzer, President; Fred E. Barron. To the Class of 1964, We salute you, members of the Class of 1964, and congratulate you upon having had the foresight to continue in formal education to this point. Probably not one of you took advantage of all the opportunities that were offered since there were so many and the days were so filled with events of every nature. But you have progressed to this milestone. Now what? A high school diploma is merely a ticket of admis- sion to bigger and better things to come. If you go im- mediately to the job of earning a living you will want to grow in that job. Seek out the avenues that are open to you for advancement. Chances are that you will need to study something. Do it without delay. You ' ll never be better able. For the boys who enter the military service there are rich opportunities for you to increase your knowledge and skill. You hunt them since they may not find you soon enough. For those who are bound for more schooling be it in nursing, technical school, or college, the op portunities were never so great nor the stakes so high. The effort required is small in terms of a lifetime of advantages. Whatever your aims, your goals, your dreams, may they be richer because you were a student at Baldwin High School. We believe Baldwin is a better place be- cause you were here. May it ever be thus. W. ROBERT PAYNTER Superintendent Standing: J. Ernest Harrison. Warren D. Shepler, Sitting: Raymond E. Baker, Wilbert C. Bran- tonies. It is a pleasant task to have the opportunity to com- ment to a high school graduate and have it recorded in the yearbook. Certainly you are to be congratulated for achieving to the point of high school graduation. Your compul- sory schooling is terminated, but your education must continue if you are to meet the demands of the times. Your future opportunities will be many if you seek knowledge, are willing to work hard, and can adjust to change. Probably the best preparation for today and the fu- ture is to know yourself. This calls for personal stand- ards which are high and life goals which are worthy. Everyday living will cause you to encounter difficul- ties. The individual who meets adversity head-on usu- ally is the stronger from such experience. Give of your best to the many tasks which will con- front you. The result will be a personal satisfaction that goes with accomplishment and a world which will be better because of your honest and sincere efforts. I wish you success in all your future endeavors.
