WILBERT C. BRANDTONIES Principal Mr. Brandtonies came to Baldwin Township in 1938, when the high school was but an object of the architect's imagination. The lower floor of the McCibbeny elementary school was at that time the temporary high school and Mr. Brand- tonies was one of the three ninth grade teachers. When the high school was completed in 1939 he was given charge of the biology department and in 1942 became assistant principal under Mr. Maley. In the course of four years Mr. Brand- tonies was advanced to principal of Baldwin High School, which is the position he holds to- day. He advises in the selection of teachers and textbooks, and has charge of deciding the disci- plinary measures for the school. Mr. Brand- tonies has alwavs been interested in the work and problems of each student. ELMER I. MCGIBBENY Assistant Principal Mr. McCibbeny is an original member of the Baldwin High School faculty. He was an ele- mentary school principal prior to 1939 when he came to Baldwin to become a member of the mathematics department. His classes in this line have varied from first year algebra to solid ge- ometry and trigonometry. Mr. McGibben be- came assistant principal in 1946 and has cffarge of checking attendance, issuing excuses, arrang- ing bus schedules and supervising the loading of the buses. His crowded attendance office is a traditional scene each morning. Mr. McGibbeny assumes the duties of the principal when Mr. Brandtonies is away. SECRETARIES The school secretaries, Mrs. Boni and Mrs. Simmons, are responsible for preparing the stu- dent schedule cards and typing exams. Their office duties include: keeping the student file accurate, answering calls and typing various forms for Mr. Maley and Mr. Brandtonies. Dorothy Boni Carol Simmons 9

It is their responsibility to plan the budget for the following year, to order textbooks, to hire employees and aid in the selection of teachers. Plans are now being made for the expansion and improvement of ele- mentary school facilities. WARREN R. MALEY Supervising Principal Mr. Maley has been associated with the schools in Baldwin Township for fourteen years. He was the principal of Union School in 1936 and 1937. Because of overcrowded conditions, ninth grade classes were organized in the McCibbeny School. Mr. Maley was assigned to one of these classes in 1938. When the high school was com- pleted in 1939, he gained the position as principal which he held until 1946. Mr. Maley is now the supervising principal of the Baldwin Township School District and sees that the or- ganization runs smoothly.
