Girls Softball Team The girls' kitten ball team played its best defensive ball when they lost their first game. They did come out in the win column against the other opposition. The girls hope to play more games in the spring, SEASON'S RECORD Baldwin 3 Andrew 9 Baldwin 29 Onslow 6 Baldwin 18 Monmouth 16 The starting lineup for the last game against Monmouth was as follows Evelyn Ketelsen first base Lola Durkop left short stop Sue Scott pitcher Doris Scott third base leota Scott left field Donna Scott catcher Joan Buck right shortsop Dolores Wosoba center field Madeline Willey right field Dorothy Graves second base Other girls who saw action were Darleen Engel, Joyce Wosoba, Ruth Ann Caraway, Lois Ann Duemong, Judy Scott, and Marilyn Wilcox. Girls Basketball Basketball practice for the 1950-'51 season opened October 16 under the direction of our new coach, Mr. Olson. There were eight letter winners reporting. The first three weeks were spent mainly ln basket- ,ball fundamentals. Then our regular season began, In January, we beat Sabula in the County Tournament, but lost to Monmouth in the finals. In the Sectional Tournament, we lost to Olin. We had led them until seven minutes remained. Four regulars fouled out and that proved to be our downfall. Then came our two and one-half weeks of water vacation. The alumni closed our season. We again beat them. Ten letters were awarded as follows: Lola Durkop, Donna Scott, Leota Scott, Doris Scott, Dorothy Graves, Evelyn Ketelsen, Joan Buck, Dolores Wosoba, Sue Scott, and Joyce Wosoba. Donna Scott broke the individual school scoring record.for this year with 43 points against Onslow, Sue Scott received honorable mention as a guard on Jack Norths' 1950- 1951 All State Girls' Basketball Team.
