CALENDAR August Y1ppS6.school begins! Half a day. Mr. Olson puts in his first appearance. Eek, a freak! September Mr. Olson comes to stay. P.T.A. Office moved upstairs. Library moved into main room. Boys' softball at Wyom1ng,...,,,Who won?........Baldw1n d1dn't. Oscar from Munich, Germany visited school and spoke to assembly. Sophomore Candy Sale Baldwin girls beat Onslow girls at softball on the Monmouth field. Ill-fated sophomore hayride at Werden's Caves. Beautiful night, lovely time until Donn Willey fell, and the hayrack passed over him, October Boys game at Monmouth with Wyoming -------- lost by one point. P.T.A. Annual staff announced. Basketball season tickets put on sale. Annual staff sold advertising in Maquoketa, Baldwin and Monmouth. Main room desks changed.....now run West and East. November fo Cheerleading tryouts held in gym. Darleen Engel, Sue Scott, Donna Scott and Doris Scott ...... .The Winners! Pictures taken by Mr. Swanson. Onslow here ---- first basketball game of the season. The Baldwin girls won in an overtime thriller. Surprise birthday party for Evelyn Ketelser1hald in gym. The Minstrel Show presented by the husbands of members of the Women's Club for the benefit of the Activity Fund in Harmony Hall. The Intermediate Room also took part in the entertainment. Verona Inabnet visited school., P.T.A. ---- Miss Blochwitz showed pictures and gave a talk on her European tour. Men's night. Girls' basketball practice at night. Oh, oh. Boys went to Wyoming to practice basketball. Junior class rings arrived. Pancake supper at the schoolhouse....cute waitresses! Just enough to Egg around. Boys County Jamboree at Bellevue. Donn Willey returned to school ...only limping slightly. School dismissed at 2 o'clock for Thanksgiving vacation. Pooh, vacat1on's over and the grind begins. Mr. Ankney snowed in in Pennsylvania. A Mr. Ankney returned to Baldwin. Report cards given out. Girls lost to Elwood 50-36. Mr. Olson and E.S..vanished after 2 good-looking 'babes' walked by. December Bellevue boys at Baldwin. De4feet is sore......G1rls played Alumni here---7102-22. ' Junior High girls played at Miles. Prison numbers found on students books, desks, and clothes, Warden Ankney was obl1v1ous...At least everyone hoped he was. Basketball at Miles. Girls 52-55.....Thr1lling overtime again! Boys lost 29-50. Sabula at Baldwin. Girls won 58-31. Boys lost 22-42. Boys played Maquoketa B and lost....Jun1or High played Miles Junior High.

Mr. Ankeny treated B.B. boys to a pint of ice cream each. Boys lost to Bellevue 45-19 Mr. Olson and seniors had pictures taken in Cedar Rapids. Senior girls wore flashy sweaters and rings. Boys' County Tournament at Bellevue. We lost to Bellevue and Monmouth. Girls' Sectional Tournament at Morley ..... Baldwin lost to Olin. January l5.,.....Big,fat water tower vacation. FBUPUSPI Monmouth game postponed on account of ice and rain. Started Saturday school to make up lost days. Boys' Sectional Tournament at Elwood: lost to Elwood..62-12. Boys and girls at Sabula playing basketball ............. ....... Baldwin at Andrew ---- girls won in a rough and tough game. -Surprise birthday party for Leota Scott. ----- Beautifully decorated cake donated by Sue Scott. Ice Cream donated by Mr. Olson. P.T.A. March Played Monmouth and lost. Senior Class Pictures arrived. Boys and girls in afternoon basketball game. Boys won ---- Surprised? Boys and girls played Alumni ----- Girls wong boys lost. Junior Class cake auction. Visitors Day ---- Election Day ---- Big Snow Storm. 'Career Day in Maquoketa for Juniors and Seniors. Last day of Saturday school ..... .We hope. Leota Scott's third finger left hand is no longer bare. Vic is the lucky fellow, Jack Tournament finals: Judy Scott-firstg Sue Scott- secondg and Donna Scott-third ..... The Old Capitol was a favorite meeting place. Just where were yOu, Miss B? Talk1ng???????????? High school full of sleepy-heads....the two Ikes c0uldn't take it.
