CLASS HISTQRY :sn- 'k' L- On September 1, 1939, five little first graders with neatly combed hair and brushed teeth climbed the hill to the Baldwin school, We, Phyllis Harding, John Lubben, Leota Scott, Sue Scott, and Fay Stickley presented ourselves for the first day. Reading, writing, and 'rithmetic took most of our time, As time went on we accumulated much knowledge unfil we found ourselves ready to enter high school, By that time the class had changed a good deal. Phyllis Harding and Fay Stickley had dropped out, Some had joined us but dropped out before the freshmen year. Eight green, green freshmen entered high school, We were Don Littell, Leota Scott, Sue Scott, Wanda McGaffee, Dorothy Graves, John Lubben, and Joann Howell. In our sophomore year Wanda MoGaffee left us and Darleen Engel transferred from Elwood. Joann Howell left and lone Frandsen transferred from Maquoketa in our junior year. Our class of Seven, Leota Scott, Dorothy Graves Sue Scott, Darleen Engel, John Lubben, Don Littell, and Floyd Clark will leave Baldwin High School in May never to return as students. we hopethe records we leave behind are as praiseworthy as the happy memories we carry with us, QCLASS WUI We, the Senior Class of 1951, being of as sound a mind as we will ever be, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. To the Juniors we leave our wastebasket behind the radiator, Keep it filled, but don't get caught. To the Sophomores we leave our ability to argue in class. Waste time--that's why you're in school. To the Freshmen we leave our ability to get along with each other. Ha, ha, ha. Floyd Clark wills his ability to flirt to Donald Heath. Talk sweet, Don. John Lubben wills his ability to take pins out of the assembly doors to Jack Bodkin. Don't get caught, Jack. Don Littell wllls his ability to have his teachers go with his sisters to Donn Willey. Too bad you have only one sister, Donn. Dorothy Graves wills her ability to catch a man to Lola Durkop. Find one and hold on tight, Lola. Leota Scott wills her innocent expression to Joan Buck. Keep looking innocent, Joan. Sue Scott wills her perfect attendance record to Dolores Wosoba. Get there on time, Dolores.
