It seems that there was an old colored gentleman who was the water boy for the football team at Swannee Mxlxtary lnstrtute. He had been assocxated wxth the teams of Swannee for about 20 years. When asked by a sportswrlter whrch team he thought was the best team that Swannee had had, he replred, The one a comm' up. ThlS story can easlly be applled to the s1tuat1on at BCHS. The best senior class can be descrrbed as The one a comrn' up. To the Junrors I wxll say, You have a challenge to meet. 0 I 4 1 ,x ify. xx sn 5 lllllvfe 4 1 R o 'N y rg' .E U LS... The seniors began racking their brain thinking of people to whom they could send these treasured announcements. When our caps and gowns arrived they were handled with the greatest of care. Every heart was bursting with pride as each tried on his square-topped cap and the long flowing angelic gown to see if it was to fit the body so happy to put it on. Finally the long- awaited day came. One hundred thirteen seniors proudly marched into the football stadium to music rendered by the band. With lumps in our throats, we relived our happy school year as the speakers brought certain events to our attention. As we walked out, we realized that it was not the end of one road, but the beginning of another one. Though we are dealing principally with youth, we have tried to recapture in these pages, some of the nostalgic beauty and graciousness of the Old South that will always find reception in the hearts of Rebel descendants. I have enjoyed the honor and the work of editing our annu- al. The day will never come when I shall cease to be grate- ful to Mr. Daniels for his patience and understanding. Mr. Nealey also deserves a special tribute for accepting the role of advisor along with his many other activities. To all the members of the faculty which have helped in so many ways to make this a creditable edition, thank you. Thanks go also to a number of Old Grad's' who pitched in and helped. To the staff who have co-operated with me in this venture, I would like to say, thank you for a job well done. I am deeply grateful to Harry Raske, a wonderful artist, for his excellent work in the photographic department. If I have failed to give credit to anyone, please understand that it was not intentional. So--Hail and Farewell. MR. WILFORD NEALEY Advisor ,nl . ., 'E' ', f A. i Qw.
