I 1 Uufz, Uwn, Band A ooo ff X, ,' The Band brought special attention and honor to our school when they represented the fl ' state of Alabama at the National V. F, VV. Con- We J t vention in Miami, Florida, in August. They were described as having marched with well drilled precision and were shown in two cuts in the leading morning newspaper. Returning from Miami, they paraded at Ccala, Florida. lt will be a long time before that trip is tor- gotten. There are sixty members and eight major- ettes directed by their popular leader, George Bootsie Noonan. With their snappy drum beat and greatly improved music, they pa- raded at all ten ot our lootball games. ln addition to these performances the band Georqe Bootsie Noonan-Director participgted in Several Trade Day parades' an Armistice Day parade, and Christmas pa- rades in Bay Minette and Foley. February brought practice, practice, and more practice all had to be ready lor Mardi Gras. Finally the event arrived, and they marched in nine parades. Gt course they were called on to play tor chapel programs, PTA meetings, and May Day. A highlight of the band's musical achievement was the excellent concert given in the late spring. They attended the County Music Festival at Robertsdale. ln lune they will march in the State V. F. Vtf. Convention parade. Godwin, Presley, Cooper, Bobbie McDill, Postma, Thompson Icimes, Mashburn.
