Winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Les Etters, Mark Confer, Leroy Hall and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 48 Penns Valley 4 The Eagles made it six straight by running all over visiting Penns Valley. Tiny Hall also kept his pinning streak going by flooring his opponent in 45 seconds. Other winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Phil Noll, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Bob Catherman, Mark Conger, and Charlie Hall, Don Peters and Ben Richner, in his first varsity bout, drew. Bald Eagle 53 Captain Jack 3 The Eagles continues their winning streak by soundly thrashing Captain Jack. Wins again came from Bob Conklin, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Phil Noll, Don Peters, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Les Etters, Mark Confer, Leroy Hall, and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 28 Clearfield ll Bald Eagle won its biggest meet of the year by upseting powerful Clearfield on the Eagles' mats. Phil Noll's drawing with highly rater Sam Clark along with Sam Gates' upsetting Bob Thompson and John Jury easily beating his opponent were the high lights of the evening. THIRD ROW: Bill Hall, Tony Ziegler, Art Thompson. VARSITY BASKETBALL The determination of Fred DeVictor and Dean Kistner, the scoring of Torry Confer and Steve Butler, the rebounding of Alex Murnyack, Tom Bowes, and Paul Woodring, and the cooperation of the other players of the team made this season an enioyable one. The Eagles were dwarfed in their first game by the Little Lions as they lost 45- 40. They rebounded with a 55-43 victory over Penns Valley. The Eagles got their wings clipped in the next two games when they bowed to State College 69-42 and Lock Haven 74-60. The Eagles took over the victory column once more as they downed the Rams of Penns Valley 51-43. They kept up their winning ways by downing Tyrone 53- 47 in their first Mountain League Competition of the season. The next three games spelled defeat for the Bald Eagle hoopsters as they lost to Hollidaysburg 61-47, Phillipsburg 53-47, and Lewistown 58-29. The Eagles traveled to Bellefonte and returned with a 45-40 victory over the Red Raiders under their belt. ln their next game the Eagles put up a strong fight but fell victim to a strong Huntingdon team 51-47. Bald Eagle finished the last game of the first cycle with a strong win over Captain Jack 54-43. The Eagles were grounded for their next four games. They lost to a much im- proved Tyrone team 79-45. They dropped the next three games to Hollidaysburg 62-29, Phillipsburg 70-39, and Lewistown 84-48, in that order. The Eagles completely dominated the next game as they scalped the Red Raid- ers of Bellefonte 69-36. The Eagles played a fine game against Huntingdon but could not muster up enough heighth to defeat the Bearcats as they lost 57-52 in the game of the season, the Eagles took it on the chin once more as they were downed by Captain Jack 60-52.
