Top: John Jury Left: Leroy Hall Right: Mark Confer Bald Eagle 14 State College 35 Bald Eagles wrestling team got off to a good start when George Jury pinned his opponent in the 95 lb. weight class, but State College came back and won the next four bouts. John Jury, Les Etters, and Mark Conter also won for the Eagles. The loss ot Tiny Hall from the line up because of a shoulder iniury and Dick Fet- zer because of illness proved fatal to the Eagles. Bald Eagle 28 Jersey Shore 15 The Eagles got right back into the winning column by knocking Jersey Shore from the unbeaten ranks. Losing only at 138, 145, and 165, the night belonged to the Eagles. The winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Phil Noll, John Jury, Dick Rhoades, Bob Catherman, Mark Confer, and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 34 Bellefonte 14 The Eagles won their second straight and started a long win treck as they easily defeated Bellefonte 34-14. Wins for the Eagles came from George Jury, Dick Fetzer, John Jury, Dick Rhoades, Bob Catherman, Les Etters, Leroy Hall, and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 40 Chief Logan 2 Bald Eagle came close to having a shutout over Chief Logan by winning all the bouts but 112 where Sam Gates drew with his opponent. Winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Phil Noll, Dick Peters, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Bob Catherman, Les Etters, Mark Confer, Tiny Hall, and Charlie Hall. Bald Ea le 35 Sugar Valley 11 9 Bald Eagle kept its winning streak going by running over Sugar Valley. Bald Eagle 26 Philipsburg 20 The Eagles started off right this year by defeating an experienced Philipsburg team. Winners for the Eagles were George Jury, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Mark Confer, Phil Noll, Charlie Hall, and Tiny Hall. Bald Eagle 23 Lewistown 28 The Eagles lost a close, hard fought meet to one of the region's powerhouses, Lewistown. The score went up in steps with Lewistown finally coming out on top. The boys that made the score close were Sam Gates, Dick Rhoades, Les Etters, Mark Confer, and Tiny Hall. Even though the Eagles lost, the fans knew that the Eagles would have a good season. Bald Eagle 25 Bald Eagle-Nittany 23 The Eagles bounced back to defeat a very strong Bald Eagle-Nittany squad. The score was very close all through the meet, and it was Charlie Hall who put it on ice with a second period fall. Other winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, John Jury, and Tiny Hall. Hollidaysburg Invitational Tournament During the Christmas Holidays the Eagles competed in a tournament of twelve teams at Hollidaysburg. They made a very fine showing and placed third in the tournament beaten only by Clearfield Cfirst placel and Philipsburg Csecond placel. The Eagles had three Champs: Bob Conklin C88 lbsl, George Jury C95 lbs.J, and Mark Confer C180 lbs.l They also had two runners-up: Dick Rhoades C133 lbs.l and Charlie Hall Cunl.l, Unbeaten Tiny Hall was unable to wrestle because of a shoulder injury.

Winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Les Etters, Mark Confer, Leroy Hall and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 48 Penns Valley 4 The Eagles made it six straight by running all over visiting Penns Valley. Tiny Hall also kept his pinning streak going by flooring his opponent in 45 seconds. Other winners were George Jury, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Phil Noll, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Bob Catherman, Mark Conger, and Charlie Hall, Don Peters and Ben Richner, in his first varsity bout, drew. Bald Eagle 53 Captain Jack 3 The Eagles continues their winning streak by soundly thrashing Captain Jack. Wins again came from Bob Conklin, Dick Fetzer, Sam Gates, Phil Noll, Don Peters, Dick Rhoades, John Jury, Les Etters, Mark Confer, Leroy Hall, and Charlie Hall. Bald Eagle 28 Clearfield ll Bald Eagle won its biggest meet of the year by upseting powerful Clearfield on the Eagles' mats. Phil Noll's drawing with highly rater Sam Clark along with Sam Gates' upsetting Bob Thompson and John Jury easily beating his opponent were the high lights of the evening.
