For the past six years Mr. Ralph Lehman has been the principal of Balboa High School, and this year he is retiring. It is with fond recognition of his good works that the Galleon Staff dedicates the l957 Galleon to Mr. Lehman. Being a principal, Mr. Lehman is nat- urally in the public eye. The student body as a whole knows little of a principals be- hind-the-scenes activities. Mr. Lehman has been tireless in his efforts to make Balboa first on the Pacific. His support of our sports program, his encouragement of eX- 4 periniental classes, and his improvement of Bal's buildings and grounds are only a few of the little known enterprises that make Mr. Lehman worthy of praise. As the Galleon Staff has put forth its best effort for a good yearbook, there are individuals and groups who are constantly exerting effort for the school. Keeping this organization closely knit as well as progres- sive is what these individuals will always remember Mr. Lehman for. Wfords are so inadequate, but I am sure the whole school joins in saying, Good luck in the future, Mr. Lehman, and thank you for the years you gave to Balboa. ANN CONTE, Editor
