The Student Council was made into the law making body ol the school. Things were bigger and better during the spring. The Student Court, led by a girl judge and her capable assistants, laid down the law. The kids around school soon knew that this lady meant business when she began handing out citations and ineted out stitl' punishment. A reward assembly was given to all SA. card holders. Talent from other schools was presented. This was the first assembly of its type. Greater Balboa XVeek was a lot ol lun. Students were seen with crazy hats and acting as teachers. The carnival was held on X'Vc-dnesday. and followed a YVestern theme. Many new ideas were put into elliect this spring. The Buc- caneer and the SA. joined forces in trying to build school spirit and interest. Rallies and assemblies ran smoothly, with lots ol entertainment supplied through the el't'orts of the SA. officers. Preplanning and tight schedules were the kev words. Mr. Makower, adviser of the SA., started a class in parliamentary procedures: this class was given to all incoming oHicers so that they could take over their elected ollice without hesitation. S.A.
