It is the task of these five individuals to provide leadership in a clearly defined educa- tional program. An Administrative Committee com- posed of Deans, Directors, the President and Vice President, coordinate the vari- ous operations and policies which are so necessary for a smoothly run campus. Public Iunior Colleges are governed by private citizens elected by the community to work in the best interests of the area residents and of the schools. The duties of these groups include the setting of policy. approval of curriculum, and the selection of teachers. Bakersfield College is privileged to have some of the county's leading citizens serv- ing on its Board of Trustees. As college graduates. the members un- derstand the need of continual progress and betterment of education in the district.
