The movemenf of Bakersfield College fo ifs new home was accom- plished in an afmosphere of organized confusion. Desks and equipmenf were mislaid. femporary offices for sfudenf officers were sef up while sfudenfs awaifed complefion of fhe beaufiful new campus cenfer, and feelings ran fo sadness as fhe long and friendly associafion wifh Bakers- field High School came fo an end. Buf as fhe flag was raised in fronf of fhe adminisfrafion building early on fhaf brighf cool April day, sfudenfs and insfrucfors finally realized fhaf Bakersfield College was enfering a new and excifing period of ifs hisfory. a period filled wifh opporfunifies fo become fhe finesf com- munify college in fhe nafion. Sfudenfs look forward fo fhe complefion of 'rhe campus in fhe fall of l956. The graduafes of fhis year will nof share in fhaf phase of fhe college's developmenf, buf fheirs has been fhe happy disfincfion of being fhe firsf class fo earn fheir degrees from fhe campus on fhe bluffs.
