When a request came to Bakerstield College tor dona- tion ot books to be sent to , university students abroad, ln- t ternational Relations Club be- gan a drive with the help ot otherorganhahons,pdncipah ly the Sophomore Council, which netted hundreds ot books. The tirst big l955-56 assignment ot lRC, the an- nual toreign student tour, was cancelled. Members had spent hours in preparation tor the tour and arranging tor tamilies to act as hosts tor the students, Disappointed but undaunted they tackled other iobs. State Collegians engages in select- ed activities. hears speakers, and schedules meetings designed to give preteachers a look at the pro- tession. The thought is to iron out the difficulties ot perplexed educa- tion majors before they lose conti- dence and branch into what may seem to be a less problem-tilled oc- cupation.
