Methodist All-American 2 Team All Conference The 1961 Wildcat football team had a relatively successful season this year finish- ing fourth with a 6-3 record. Although early practice was accompanied with many injuries the season's opening kickoff found the Cats ready and eager for the on-coming K.C.A.C. football trials which were ahead. Special recognition should be given to a few outstanding Baker players: John Jacobs has been named a member of the first string for the Little All-America Academic football team. He was named as a halfback on the first eleven, and posted a 2.7 grade average out of a possible 3.0 points. John was the only junior named to the first team, the balance of the players being exclusively seniors. John was also appointed to the 2nd string of Methodist All-American. Th6SG national ratings are a real credit to John and to Baker University.
