FRESHMEN BASKETBALL Back row: Stephanie Huether, Susan Duneman, Sharon Breitbach, Molly Barefoot, Cristy Kinsey, Tanya Dilworth. Middle row: Sharon Beckers, Vicki Uttkc, Maria Prokop, La Vonne Wolcntez,Heidi Perry. Front row: Miss Kuch, Theresa Heiser, Jamyne Mayo, Brenda Bee h told. The freshmen girls basketball team completed the second season with a record of 8 wins and 4 losses. There were 15 girls on the team at the beginning of the year. (Two members of the team, Maria Prokop and Vicki Uttke, played with the junior varsity team. Others that helped the junior varsity from time to time included Sharon Brietbach, Christy Kinsey, Molly Barefoot, and Tanya Dilworth.) Tanya Dilworth was high scorer for the year and Sharon Brietbach was high rebounder. The girls played several extremely close games. Each time, they came through to win. The team was one that had real desire to win and it showed when the game was close. The team has a lot of talent. They will be a team to watch in the next couple of years. Coach Kuch

Front row: Kim Bremer, Traci Rustad, DeAnna Herbst, Manager Brenda Meschkc. The 198! season was a tough one for Baker’s J.V.’s as they ran into a lot of excellent competition. The Spartans came through the season looking pretty good despite the tough competition with an overall record of 7 wins 9 losses and a conference record of 7 wins-8 losses. The J. V. ’s were younger than most of their competition as three sophomores and two freshmen made up the starting five. Though the Spartans were young, they looked good and made a lot of progress throughout the season. With a record that was just a shade under 500, it really shows that Baker was a team to be respected. The J. V. s represented Baker well not only on the court but off the court also. Baker and Baker High School should be proud of these young ladies. As their coach, I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with every one of the Baker J. v;’s.
