The Senior Class feels that in the three years he has been here, Mr. Tuggle has done many things to help our class. He has, in many ways, helped to pre- pare us for our future years in life outside school, Mr. Tuggle, we the Senior Class wish to say Thanks for all your hard work to improve our school life as well as our future lives. 6 SCHOOL BOARD Left to Right: Doug Barone Charles Madler Art Koenig Ashley Stanhope Orville Stevens Charles Woodsend Russell Culver Tom Overton Del Hartwick Alfred Braun Seated: Carol Bechtold We the Class of 1972, would like to thank the School Board for all they have done for us. We realize the many tiring hours they put in to help keep the school running, and that these efforts sometimes go unrecognized. Thank you. 5 UPER IN TEN D E A 7 May 1 extend my sincere congratulations to the Class of 1972 for having completed the course work in secondary education. Your graduation from Baker High School is a mark of individual success. Where are you going and how will you use the knowledge that you have accumulated? This responsi- bility is now firmly placed upon your shoulders. May your life s work be filled with many rewarding mo- ments to you, your family and others. D. M. Hartwick A DMINISTRA TION We hope that the four years you have spent with us have equipped you with the tools to handle success- fully the challenge of today's world. In my reading recently I came across the following anonymous gem of wisdom which I feel is worth thinking about: Why were the saints, saints? Because they were cheerful when it was difficult to be cheerful, patient when it was difficult bo be patient; and because they pushed on when they wanted to stand still, and kept silent when they wanted to talk, and were agreeable when they wanted to be disagreeable. That was all. It was quite simple and always will be. With this in mind, go out into the world-imper- fect, as it is-and with all the confidence and inge- nuity of youth attack the problems which need to be solved. We are depending on you and cheering you on to success knowing that in some small measure we have had a part in it. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 1972. L. The Spartans then faced tougher teams from Poplar, Circle and Scobey and put up a good scrap with each but didn't manage to get enough points on the board. Baker then played Broadus and won 8-6 in a Montana playoff. The final game was played with Plentywood. The season's record was 4 wins and 4 losses. Baker Score Opponent Score SEASON SUMMARY It was a long, cold, and disappointing winter for the A-Squad Basketball Team. The team didn't get enough momentum going to pulling a winning season. In most games the Spartans came within inches of winning, but couldn't squeak by. Tournament fans went home with a lump in their throats, after Baker was eliminated in a double over- time game, and with high hopes for next year. SEASONS SUMMARY As in the past, Baker wrestled against larger and tougher schools, so the team would be ready to provide stiff competition at the District Wrestling Tournament. Baker brought home a 2nd place trophy and eight wrestlers qualified for the State, the most in the schools history. The Baker wrestlers didn’t fare as well at State. Although John Moser received 2nd place at State, Baker didn’t have enough team points to place. SEASONS SUMMARY Bakers' B-Squad ended the season with a 3 and 8 record. This record was not a true indication of the teams ca iber as many times during the season they won the matches that they wrestled. Throughout the season, the B-Squad had to forfeit many matches which made the difference in most of their dual meets. Lack of personnel hurt the team throughout the year, but Coach Doug Schenkle is looking for a more successful season next year.
