Superintendent Today the nation looks to its educated peo- ple, to those especially equipped to serve. But it looks for and needs something besides knowledge and skills. It needs educated people who dig deeper than the easy surface answer, who suspect the invita- tion to stampeede, and whose moral and ethical fiber is strong. It needs educated people who will exercise and defend the rights and privileges on which our political system depends. It needs educated people who expect no special privilege, who would accept duly constituted law and order rather than their own conscience and who would use their knowledge and abilities to serve their fellow man. Our students have been privileged to acquire knowledge and have been challenged to think. This is a troubled world with complicated prob- lems but you have had the opportunity ot learn what has endured and what will endure. I hope you will think soundly, act wisely, and serve with dedication and humility. Administration Principal The doors of Baker High have closed behind you and you are now standing on the threshold of the adult world. It is my sincere hope that your days spent at Baker High School have, in some measure, equipped you to make the mature dec- sion necessary for a full and successful life... to choose between good and bad, truth and falshood, beautiful and ugly, what is important and what is trivial. The new frontiers in science and space will offer a challenge to some of you... for all of you there is still the challenge of keeping your country the free land your forefathers created for you. Where each can contribute towards making it a better place in which to live. Congratulations, Seniors, and best wishes for success in whatever life-occupation you choose. 6
