Board of Education SITTING: Edgar Justesen, Robert Anderson, Tom Overton, Russell Culver STANDING: Charles Madler, Dale Olson, Mourice Myhre, Francis Madler BEHIND THE SCENES We, the students of Baker High School, owe a measure of gratitude to the Board of Education. Although we often do not realize that they are working quietly behind the scenes, our Board is at the head of the administrative functions of Baker High. One very large job this group does is to study the curriculum to make certain that our courses are up-to-date. Other duties are having rooms painted and equipment checked. Besides making repairs another responsibility is the com- plex budget for all of the schools which must be presented to the voters of the school district. A member of the Board of Education gets little recognition for many hours spent working hard. We would like to say to all of you who have played such a major role in our high school life a very sincere thank you.

Superintendent These are trying times in many respects. Students are faced with daily decisions taht affect their futures. I'm concerned about the proclivity of people to be more concerned with wrongness than rightness. We search harder for the wrongness; we measure more closely the wrongness we do find, and we give wrongness a disproportionate weight over the goodness we find. This leads to judging rather than interpreting events. I’m especially impressed at the serious attitude and pur- poseful direction a great majority of our young people are pursuing. It is gratifying and highly indicative that we have Juvenile Proficients - young people dedicated to putting forth their best effort in what ever they do. Certainly football and basketball championships - speech and drama efforts - our fine instrumental and vocalgroups and this excellentyearbook are examples of that effort. Parents, friends and school patrons can be justly proud of our school and can look forward to continued improvement in curriculum, faculty training, the learning atmosphere and student moral. Principal Congratulations, Seniors, for having had the perserverance to complete twelve years of schooling. It has been our aim to give you the tools you will need to build a happy and productive life. These tools are basic knowledge, basic skills, and basic human relationships. How well you combine them and get them working for you will largely determine how successful you will be, for remember, there are only twenty- six letters in the alphabet, but it's how you put them together that may result in your being a second Shakespeare! My sincere best wishes for all that is good in life.
