CLASS PROPHECY Sonar Travel Agency off the coast of California agreed to let us use their new atomic underwater Amphibiauto to see and visit some of our former classmates of '66. With their modern teleview and talk-a-thon we were able to contact each one before our arr'val, We learned that several of our classmates had recently purchased the new underwater pent houses for the summer, which were all the rage. First we decided to visit the newly constructed Sea Vagas where we were surprised to see the brightly lit Mengel and Kalland Casino. We decided to stop and visit our old friends, and who should meet us at the door, but Marlene Varner? We found out that she managed the slot machines and roulette table. At the fabulous Sea Vagas we saw Molly Tobin and Sylvia Bubiitz on vacation from their jointly owned ranch at Camp Crook. As we were crossing the street we caught a glimpse of Gerald Quenzer, Eddie Renner, and DuWayne Bohle skimming by in their new 2000 1 2 Aqua Marine, chasing three strange mermaids. Appearing nightly at the Casino was Marty Efta and his Dave Clark Six. Back at the Sonar Travel Agency we thanked Ronnie and Donnie Lain for the use of their underwater Amphibiauto. Having lunch at the Swank, owned by Lois Bertsch and Robin Roth, we were reading the paper, edited by Vera Abrams, and were shocked to find out that Judy Justesen and Kelley Munsell had recently eloped to Reno, Nevada. Steve Spriggs, who was still fond of playing with matches, accidentally burned his fingers. Upon reaching the hospital we discovered Virginia Nelson was to take the blood test. As we walked down the corridor, we overheard nurse Margaret Schoenbeck talking to James Rambur, the mad scientist trying to discourage him from completing his latest project of discovering a drug to poison his best friend, Kermit Krokker, without getting caught. After Steve had his hand nicely bandaged by Dr. David Huether, and we were walking toward the exit, we saw Calvin Randall and Mike Krieger hospitalized with a severe case of califlower ears. We boarded a new atomic-powered space coupe to Washington, operated by Russell Newell. (Greeting us was Frances Hufford, the stewardess.) After arriving in about ten minutes, we saw Lynn McMillan still campaigning for the presidency of the United States. His campaign director was Robert Smeltzer who was assisted by Jim Martin. We then got a high-powered, jet propelled taxi that was driven by Tom Carlson and owned by Lonnie Rath. As we were riding, we happened to go by Robert Bergstrom and his funeral home, but didn't wish to stop there at this time. A little later we saw Timothy Greve driving his 1954 Cadillac stationwagon for Bergstrom's Funeral Home with Joanne Jensen riding with him. As we pulled up to the Lalonde Hotel, we saw Linda Flor, who was crowned Miss America, with her three runners-up Joan Huber, Virginia Jestnes, and Roberta Sonsalla. As we were greeting them, we happened to bump into Dennis Gilmore and Ralph Gallo who were trying to sell their new dry gin product. As we went into the Hotel to register, we found Paula Stenglein behind the desk and Wesley Naylor the bell-boy. After registering, we went to the Hanson's Opera House to see the great pianist Kenneth Korneychuk and the three famous opera singers Linda Fried, Renee Leischner, and Leona Susa. The next day we boarded a super-sonic jet and landed in Texas. We learned that the pilot of the plane was John Christiansen. As we landed, we found that nearly half the state was owned by Lynda Koenig, Kathy O’Donnell, Kay Rost, and Shari Stark, who ran the dude ranches. As we went to the coast we found Winona Hill, Bonnie Plummer, and Rosalie Rustad surfing in the ocean. Going north we saw a Church Mission that is run by Jean Peterson with the help of Shirley Kruger and Betty Schwartz. As we left to go to Mexico, we saw two hitchhikers who, we learned later, were Bill Rost and Lester Schwindt. As we arrived in Mexico City, we found millionaire Jerry Townsend filling one of his thirty-five thousand vending machines. Stopping, we saw Lynne Anderson and Marilyn Lang dancing in the square. As we boarded a plane back to California, we read that Shirley Scheuffele, Marie Slagter, and Kenneth Lacquement were entered in the Indianapolis 500. As we were flying, we happened to see Randie Nelson going by in a 763 cubic inch Sting-Ray Super Sonic Jet with a Just Married sign on it. As we landed, we knew we had seen all our old classmates of '66.
