 LIKE ATTRACTS LIKE Like Attracts like, is not only the law of the magnet-it is the law of the mind. Psychologists tell us that we cannot store up thoughts of hate, and draw to ourselves the love of our fellows. To win loyalty, we must be loyal. To become successful,we mustthink success. We create our own mental magnet, we get back in the long run what we give. We attract those things to which we are attuned. It is up to us. L. W. How- ever ,1 realized how foolish such a remark was after reading these words by Charles Kingsley (1819-1875): Thank God every morning when you get up that you have something to do that day which must be done, whether you like it or not. Being forced to work, and forced to do your best, will breed in you temper- ance and self-control, diligence and strength of will, chee rfulness and content, and a hundred virtues which the idle never know. No matter what the job-large or small- give it your all, and if you whistle while you work it will cease to be a mere job and become instead a source of joy and inspiration. L.
