The first thing we need to do is to see that the history of America and American institutions is ade- quately taught in our schools and colleges to the rising generations of Americans. Standards and ideals must be constantly taught or they will perish; for as the older generation dies, its knowledge dies with it. The ideals that have made our country great will live only as they are implanted in the minds of those who are coming on to take the places of those who are passing away. L. W. Heftie, Superintendent Mr. L. W. Heftie Do you have a goal in life? In basketball, the goal is to put the ball through the basket, and the success of the team is measured by how often it ac- complishes this goal. In high school your goal is to graduate and in order to do this you must earn the required number of credits. These goals have been set for you by others, but if you desire success in life you will have to set your OWN goals..goals which will give real meaning and purpose to your day-by- day living. When you awake each morning will you expect the coming day to be the same old grind, or will you awake expecting the accomplishments of that day to bring you closer to your goal? Remember, a per- son can't get anywhere unless he's going someplace. Decide where you are going and then chart your course in that direction. Good luck to you! L. Fredric Bruggeman, High School Principal American Legion Club and Samsel’s Mr. L. F. Bruggeman
