Class Song (Tune- Tea For Two ) Baker High, we’ll say goodby From me to you, you’ve seen us through You'll always be in memory its true; No more high school, but maybe a little college; We all know that we should have a little bit more knowledge And so to you dear Baker High adieu. From these prison walls we'll go And poor Mr. Heftie will feel so low The teachers all will sit right down and cry. But the class of '54 will heave a sigh and say once more Farewell to you, our favorite school, goodby. Shirley Rae Ovens Gloria Olson Esther Sheehan Class Officers 1950-1954 Back Row: Joanne Martin, Calvin Lund, Gary Morrow, Sam Weeks, Betty O'Donnell. While we, the prophecy committee of 1954, were sitting in the commercial room, we started to day dream. In the dream it was 1964 and we were given free tickets to tour the United States in a one horse open sleigh. So we hailed a taxi, and who should the driver be but Gloria Olson. She took us to our sleigh. Upon getting aboard the sleigh, we took out like a streak of lightning, but we can see why because our driver was Bob Skiles. Asking him what was the matter, he replied, I jest don't feel good! When arriving in Chicago we stopped and started uptown when who should we see but Gary Morrow carrying a lollipop he had stolen from a little girl. He was being chased by the world famous woman policewoman, Norma Korneychuk. Upon catching him she told us that he was one of the F.B.l. s ten most wanted for stealing from children. Anxiously leaving Chicago we headed for the state of New York. In New York City we went to Broad- way to see Let's Do It Again in which Calvin Lund and Doris Lutts were doing their famous tap dance. While in New York we goto Madison Square Garden to see the light weight boxing championship, we see Bill Lutts shouting, In this corner weighing 98 pounds is Janis Loveless and over in this corner is 98 3 4 pound Donnetta Boucher . Man what a fight it was. After leaving Madison Square Garden, we found ourselves in the Okefenokee swamps of Georgia. VVe saw two figures which we thought were monkeys, but after closer observation we found that it is Bonnie Plummer chasing Betty O’Donnell. (Shows there is not enough men.) Now in Miami we go to the beach to see the Miss America contest and who should we see but Esther Sheehan in the latest Paris bathing suit. She is competing for Miss America and has already won the title. Miss Florida, When looking past the line of bathing beauties we see the judge, Sam Sam the ladys man, Sammy Weeks. Our next stop was in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. We see Ilene Burns beside her trailer house in bare feet hanging out diapers for the twelfth child. (She did decide on Leo after all.) We find Gloria Varner and Byron Wolentz on a goat ranch in Texas. Gloria is out milking the goats and Byron is in the kitchen making cheese and butter with one hand and has his history notes in the t'other. While in Texas we decided to see the oil fields and as we went by one of the trailer houses we see Bald- win's car and about that time we see Avonne (Bahner) Baldwin walking out of the trailer louse. We were in a hurry so we only said Hello . In the Casino in Avalon, Catalina Island, we see a group of men around something and so going over and seeing what it is we see that it is Shirley Rae Ovens selling cigarettes. She tells us that she also sings there. At the. Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, we see Fred Hollibaugh fishing. He is arguing with Mikell Peck that the fish he just caught is a still water fish and not a salt water fish. Mikell told him very polite- ly that it was salt water fish because she took chemistry and when you take chemistry you learn every- thing. We also see Shirle Kalland cleaning Freddie's last catch. Stopping at San Diego we see our wave, Ida Marie Randash. Asking her why she ever joined the waves she told us that Hallie joined the Navy so she joined, too. Upon returning to Baker we find Bob Peterson still trying to teach us foreigners the southern drawl. We, the prophecy committee-Dolores Rustad, Reva Johnson, Marvin Reese, Darvin Schweigert, and Mary Lee Moseley-find ourselves in the insane asylum in Warm Springs. Who should be our nurse but Joanne Martin and she tells us that we were out of our heads. Dolores Rustad, Reva Johnson, Marvin Reese, Darvin Schweigert, Mary Lee Moseley. Bud's Super Valu and Rediske Radio Electric 16

Class Poem The High School Daze Of The Class Of ’54 Come along with us, to school we'll dash. To take a look through the door; We’ll give you a glimpse of a wonderful class, The Class of ’54 Avonne is talking with a cute little lad, Ted is the guy she chose; He must have done something to make her mad She gave him a broken nose! This is study hall you see. The teacher just sat on a tack; The boys are winking at Betty O'D- And she just winks right back! Bill is out in the Ag, room now, (He's going to FFA) Studying every horse and cow -He'll be a farmer some day. Down in the kitchen is Bonnie Bell, Stirring up a tasty dish- And as it cooked we could easily tell -She forgot to clean the fish! There is Byron-Oh! So dizzy, Coming down the hall; Don't bother him now-he's very busy, Writing, I love girls , on the wall. Calger listens to the game of baseball (He's an ardent fan) Don't say Dodgers to him at all, -He's a Yankee man! Dance in the gym, lights are low, Let's take a rest and stop. There is Darwin, look at him go, -He's doin’ the Bunny Hop! Delores R. is very shy, And very quiet too, Some day she'll find a certain guy. Come on now, tell us who! Donnetta's finally settled down, She'll be married soon; Took a man from another town, -Wedding will be in June. Dons, our little country lass, Opened her locker door - Someone stacked it while she was in class And her books fell out on the floor. What's that noise we hear so well? -Heard it a block away. That’s just Esther--Can’t you tell? -Playing her bass today. Fred and Shirl are quite a pair They're going steady still; If you can't find them anywhere. They're probably on Tank Hill! Gary was Dexter in our play We still remember him now; We laughed and laughed at his funny way Of saying Holy Cow ! Gloria O.. Sweet little lass. Gives out with a great big sigh. She wants to go back to History Class-- Good Heavens! I wonder why) Gloria V. is one of the best. Sitting in Typing II, Typing away on a ten minute test. Is that all there is to do? Here comes Ida down the hall. She is quite a lassie, Hallie says, That's not all- She's got a classy chassis! Ilene is tired of single life. She has a diamond new-- Wants to be a Little Wife , So she’s gonna say, I do. Who is this now?--Why Janice 'tis. Better known as Little J , Has only one wish and that one is, -She wants to grow up some day. Joanne M. is quite a honey. She's treasurer of FHA, Watch her close, she's got the money, Don't let her slip away! Curley Locks Reese is another one. Who winks at the girls every day. He says he likes it. . .it sure is fun. And it helps pass time away. Our roving reporter who we call Mauz, (Mary Lee is her name) Asked how Baker High School was. They answered all the same. Of her Hi-School days we hear Mike say, I remember them well , She dreams of all those good oT days- When her steady was Calvin L. We'll visit the commercial room today. Now who do you suppose that is? Why that’s none other than Norma K., She's our shorthand whiz. Reva is chemistry made a mess, While waiting for a test tube to cool. She tried to make some H2S And stunk up the whole darn school! Her comes Rich lickety-split, Driving his sooped-up Ford- Quick! Stand back, so you don't get hit. The gas pedal's clear to the board! Let's talk to Rose here by the door. She says she just can't wait. She's on her way to English IV, Half an hour late. There goes Sam just feeling swell. His girl he's gonna meet. As he walked along he suddenly fell. Over his great big feet! Last but not least is Shirley Rae, Practicing yells in the hall; Turned a cartwheel t'other way And crashed into the wall! There ain't no more, we’re all done. Rhyming you one by one. Now you can see (you'll have to agree) That we've had lots of fun! Shirk Kailand Joanne Martin Byron Wolenetz Bill Lutts Doris Lutts Baker Saddlery and Midland Coal and Lumber Company IS
