Class History In the year one thousand nine hundred forty-two we entered the first grade. Because of our sweet disposition it required six different teachers to see us through. . . It required only one teacher to hold us in line through the remaining live years of our Eastside career. We finally entered junior high under the dictatorship-a-er-leadership of Lovell Warren. Everybody passed the seventh grade (on condition) into the eighth grade where Robert (Sully) Sullivan was our tutor. In the spring of ’50 we marched upon the stage to receive our diplomas graduating us to the senior high school. In the fall of '50 we entered the infamous halls of Baker High School. For the freshmen year we elected the following officers: President-Betty O'Don- nell, Vice -President-Calvin Lund, Secretary-Treasurer-Sam Weeks, and spon- sor-Mr. McGonigal. After being iormally initiated by the honorable sophomores we officially became students of Baker High School. Nothing exciting happened the fresh- men year except that school got out. After a long three months vacation of fun, our voices again resounded in the halls of Baker High. During the sophomore year our officers were: Calvin Lund-President, Reva Johnson-Vice President, Bonnie Plummer-Seeretary, Shirle Kalland- Treasurer, and Mr. Langston-sponsor. During this term we had the honor of initiating the freshmen. We again came back in the fall of '52 and elected President-Shirley Kal- land, Vice President-Gary Morrow, Secretary-Re va Johnson, Treasur er-Bon- nie Plummer, Historian-Calvin Lund, and sponsor-Miss Casady. One of the highlights of our junior year was our presentation of Meet Cor- liss Archer . It went over with a huge success thanks to Miss Casady. To show our respect for the graduating seniors, we honored them with a prom. The theme was The Old Lamp Lighter with a mural painting on the west wall. At last we entered Baker High School for the last time. This year was spent in stepping on the underclassmen and proving to 'hem that we were the big wheels. This year we elected Sam Weeks-President, Jo- anne Mar tin-Vice President, Janice Loveles s-Secr etary, Shirle Kalland-Tr eas - urer, Calvin Lund-Historian, and sponsor-Mr. Heftie. Our play in the spring, Lost Horizon , was a huge success. Tom McGoni- gal was director and made fine actors of us. After much arguing, debate and good behavior, along with the Warden we were permitted to take a couple of days for sneak day. The kind hearted juniors honored us with a prom in the spring. We went through the usual spring activities which included the spring concert, the music festival, baccalaureate, and last but not least graduation.
