DEDICATION We dedicate this SPARTAN to the under- classmen of Baker High and to all the teachers who taught us. EDUCATION AND CHARACTER How much is education worth without good charac- ter? Are good character and citizenship with educa- tion your chief objectives in life? Nhat is more worthwhile than these attainments? No person lives to himself alone. Throughout life each of us dwell,work and play with other people. Much of the school life is spent with others in recreational and educational ways. Honesty, fairness, reliability, punctuality, obedience, self-control and good judgment are some of the necessary traits for each of us to acquire to make our life a success. This ability is in direct proportion to how well educated they are. The high school diploma you receive indicates you are better prepared to assume your responsibilities in 5 democracy than you were when you were promoted.from the eighth grade. A higher education yet will qualify you to be an even better citizen. Now, more than ever, we need an intelligent and responsible young manhood and womanhood ready and willing to share leadership. Accept the challenge of our changing world and equip yourself to meet its needs by continuing your education, since the success of 5 democracy depends upon what you and I put into it. L.
