Gold discoveries brought prospectors searching for fortunes in the ground men with mules and a pack barely lived on what they found. Culture was seen in the opera house the mail wagon brought good news general stores they had back then carried anything from food to shoes. Time has passed, progress came the Twenties and two world wars we landed and walked on the moon things they only dreamed of before. Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Elvis and Beattlemania of yesterday looking back, it's been quite a past andwe can't let it fade away. K.D. Adair Lunking back WS UBBI1 EIUH8 El DHS! It came with the breeze that arrived at dawn And with the sun as it shouted its existence with rays the colors of a rainbow. lt showed itself in the rooster's crowing and ln the busy activities of life all around. just beginning to wind up another time. And who has set this clock for us? Who tells it when to stop or start? This momentum of time, is it forever or just the whispered promise of today? Can this momentum be held in our hands And savored forever so we may taste each minute at a time Like so many ants upon a honeycomb With nothing to look forward to but tomorrow's harvest? This year Baker High had spirit raising events such as Hat Day, Boot Day, and tie 'em' up day, when everyone wears bows, strings, or ribbons. Pep night tries to include everyone with crowd raising cheers, class written songs and skits. The big highlight of pep night is the crowning of the pep queen, a senior girl with the most spirit. From the sand box castles and playground swings, out of our world of make believe leaving behind childhood dreams. We were young then and we played childhood games it seems not so long ago, but you, and I, and so much has changed. Our hours of play have turned to work ' with not much time to spare, not at all like those younger days I when days had hardly a care. , It seems a shame to leave it all behind with the laughter and smiles we gave, but like all the days that we live none other will ever be the same. Age is a matter of acceptance teaching us more as the years pass by, the reality that we live today came from yesterday's laughs and cries. Childhool days spent together hold memories that won't end, they made me what I am today and left to me, a special friend.
